FULLERTON, Calif.
Students at California State University, Fullerton, say they will spend a second night in the school's administration building in a protest over cuts to the university system's budget.
Business student Cameron Mahdad (mah-DAHD') tells City News Service about 30 to 40 people were on hand by 8 p.m. Tuesday for the sit-in and more were expected.
He says he doesn't expect any arrests because it is a peaceful demonstration.
Mahdad says the sit-in began Monday night after CSUF President Milton Gordon refused to sign a symbolic declaration in defense of public education.
In a statement, Gordon commended students and says he agrees with many points of their declaration.
Mahdad says students will continue the sit-in until Gordon agrees to work with them in a plan to fight the cuts.
