Management consulting firm Accenture said Wednesday that it has named Pierre Nanterme, head of its financial services operating group, as chief executive officer of the company.
Nanterme will succeed William D. Green as CEO on Jan. 1. Green will remain chairman of the board and will be involved in planning the company's long-term business strategy.
Nanterme, 51, is based in Paris. He has been group chief executive of the financial services group since September 2007. Nanterme has worked at Accenture for 27 years, in positions including chief leadership officer of the company and country managing director for France.
Nanterme also is chairman of the French Consulting Association.
Accenture shares rose 11 cents, or 0.2 percent, to finish at $45.56 in regular trading Wednesday.
