CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas
Corpus Christi International Airport is getting a $2.8 million federal grant for terminal improvements and an expanded federal inspection station.
Aviation director Fred Segundo says a larger federal inspection station could mean faster processing of passengers, possibly attracting bigger planes and more international travelers.
Corpus Christi International Airport is served by Fort Worth-based American Airlines, Houston-based Continental Airlines and Dallas-based Southwest Airlines.
The grant was announced Wednesday by U.S. Rep. Solomon Ortiz, as part of Transportation Department funding.
