Shaw inks China nuclear power plant support deal

BATON ROUGE, La.

The Shaw Group Inc. said Tuesday it has landed a contract to provide technical support for nuclear power plants in China.

Financial terms of Shaw's contract with a unit of State Nuclear Power Technology Corp. Ltd. were not disclosed.

The contract calls for Shaw to begin giving technical support, including engineering and design management, and other services, on the Xianning nuclear power plant project in Hubei province.

Shaw said it will include the value of the contract in its backlog of unfilled orders for its fiscal fourth quarter.

Shares in Shaw Group added $1, or 3.2 percent, to 432.59 in afternoon trading.
