Honda Motor Co. is recalling 585 Element vehicles from the 2010 model year in the United States to reset the automatic transmission shift cable.
The Japanese automaker said it has received a "small number" of complaints about the car's gear selector, but no injuries have been reported.
The company said the shift cables were installed improperly and may become disconnected.
The company will begin telling affected customers about the recall Monday. It said customers should take their cars to the dealer to see if they are covered by the recall.
