Textron board elects CEO Donnelly as chairman

PROVIDENCE, R.I.

Textron Inc.'s board of directors on Thursday named CEO and President Scott Donnelly to the additional post of chairman, effective Sept. 1.

Donnelly has been on the board of the maker of Bell helicopters and Cessna aircraft since October.

Donnelly, 48, will succeed former chief executive Lewis Campbell, 64, who retired in September but remained as chairman.

Shares rose 6 cents to $20.69 in afternoon trading.
