ADA, Okla.
Federal investigators are no longer examining Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc., ending a three-year investigation without any action, the network of independent law firms said Monday.
The Federal Trade Commission began a civil investigation of the Ada, Okla. company's identity theft prevention program in March 2007.
The identity theft program offers regular monitoring of credit reports, sending alerts if new accounts are opened in a customer's name or if negative items are added to credit reports. It also offers to help customers restore their credit ratings if they are a victim of identity theft.
Pre-Paid Legal shares closed Monday at $49.03.
