Myers unit Ameri-Kart buys Enviro-Fill technology
BRISTOL, Ind.
Myers Industries Inc.'s fuel tank molding company Ameri-Kart Corp. said Wednesday it has acquired the technology assets of Enviro-Fill Inc.
The assets include a fuel overfill prevention system and fuel vapor capture system that will help boat manufacturers meet Environmental Protection Agency refueling and emission requirements that will take effect on July 31, 2011.
Terms were not disclosed.
Enviro-Fill's system shuts off the refueling nozzle when fuel in the tank reaches 95 percent full, preventing spillage. The technology will bolster Ameri-Kart's marine parts business.
Myers shares fell 28 cents, or 3.3 percent, to close at $8.12.
