Northrop Grumman gets Homeland Security contract

Northrop Grumman Corp. said Tuesday it won a $5.5 million government contract to help with homeland security exercises.

The 20-month contract from the U.S. Homeland Security Department involves working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Northrop Grumman said it will work on security exercises in 28 states. Partners in the work include Battelle, ICF International, DETech and General Physics Corp.

Shares of Northrop Grumman rose 14 cents to $60.63 in midday trading.
