NEW YORK
Defense contractor Raytheon Co. spent just under $1.6 million lobbying the federal government during the first quarter on issues such as military intelligence and training, according to a recent disclosure form.
It marked a 14 percent increase from the same period a year ago, when the company spent nearly $1.4 million on its lobbying efforts.
Raytheon, based in Waltham, Mass., also lobbied on issues including the Federal Aviation Administration's budget, the Department of Homeland Security's budget, NASA's budget, and the Defense Authorization Act., according to a filing on April 20.
The company lobbied Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration, the departments of defense, treasury, commerce, and homeland security and federal agencies such as the National Security Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration from January through March.
