Huntington bank to add 500 jobs in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio

Regional bank Huntington Bancshares Inc. plans to add 500 jobs in its Ohio hometown over the next five years.

Columbus-based Huntington says in advance of a news conference Tuesday afternoon that the new jobs would be at all levels and in a variety of disciplines. The bank currently has about 3,300 employees in Columbus.

Huntington also says it's extending the lease on its downtown headquarters for at least another 20 years, to February 2030.

Huntington operates more than 600 banking offices in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
