Emergency Medical buying Gold Coast Ambulance

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.

Emergency Medical Services Corp., which provides medical and rescue services, said Monday that its American Medical Response unit will buy Gold Coast Ambulance Service for an undisclosed amount.

Gold Coast Ambulances is a privately owned ambulance company based in Oxnard, Calif.

Emergency Medical Services said the acquisition will add about $8 million to annual revenue and about 18,000 transports.

Shares of Emergency Medical Services fell 20 cents to $52.68 in afternoon trading.
