Doctors and nurses at bankrupt St. Vincent's Hospital are protesting the board's decision to end most services at the 160-year-old Greenwich Village facility.
A rally was being held on Tuesday.
President and CEO Henry Amoroso resigned after St. Vincent's 3,500 employees were officially told they're losing their jobs.
Earlier this month, Mount Sinai Medical Center considered taking over the 727-bed facility. But it dropped the plan.

St. Vincent's is at least $700 million in debt after defaulting on its Chapter 11 reorganization plan.
