Cytokinetics says chairman James Sabry resigned

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.

Biotechnology Cytokinetics Inc. said Tuesday that James Sabry, the chairman of its board of directors, has resigned to take an operations job at a pharmaceutical company.

Patrick Gage, a former president of Wyeth's research division, will take over as chairman for Cytokinetics effective immediately. Gage joined the Cytokinetics board in 2009.

Sabry is a co-founder and former CEO of Cytokinetics, and he will continue to consult with the company. Cytokinetics said details about Sabry's new position will be announced soon.
