LAS VEGAS
The Clark County coroner has ruled the death of top Hard Rock Hotel and Casino executive Andrew "Randy" Kwasniewski (kwas-NEW'-skee) was a suicide.
Coroner Mike Murphy said Wednesday that the 56-year-old chief operating officer died of a single self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
Las Vegas police said officers responded just before 10 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a man dead of a gunshot wound at Kwasniewski's home in the upscale Summerlin neighborhood.
A family friend and spokesman, attorney David Chesnoff, expressed sorrow and asked for privacy on behalf of his wife and children.
The Hard Rock is owned by New York-based Morgans Hotel Group and an equity partner. It is separate from the restaurant chain of the same name.
Kwasniewski had been hotel president since October 2006.
