KBR receives $94 million contract for new hospital
HOUSTON
KBR Inc. said Tuesday that its building subsidiary received a $94 million contract to provide various construction services for a new hospital near Atlanta.
KBR's Building Group was awarded the contract by Piedmont Healthcare to provide pre-construction and construction services for a replacement facility for Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Ga.
Once complete, the nine-story, 362,500-square-foot hospital is expected to be one of the tallest buildings in the southwest metropolitan Atlanta area, the company said. It will include 136 beds, eight operating rooms and an emergency department with 23 patient exam rooms.
Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2010 with completion slated for early 2012.
In trading for the day, KBR shares fell six cents to $21.61.
