PARIS
More than 100 demonstrators have rallied in Paris to show support for two France-3 TV journalists and their guides who have been taken hostage in Afghanistan.
Media advocacy groups like Reporters Without Borders led the demonstration Tuesday on a square near the Eiffel Tower in support of the journalists, who have been identified only as Herve and Stephane.
The French government is working toward their release and has not released their names, as part of a policy of discretion in kidnapping cases.
The two disappeared Dec. 30 along with two or three Afghan employees while traveling in Kapisa province east of Kabul. French soldiers in the region are fighting insurgents as part of a NATO-led mission in Afghanistan.
