Shaw Group wins energy efficiency contract

BATON ROUGE, La.

The Shaw Group Inc. has won a contract to make federal buildings more energy efficient.

The Baton Rouge-based company is one of several contractors that will be asked to perform work worth up to $500 million at government buildings through 2012.

Shaw Group said Wednesday that it would perform energy surveys, develop efficiency plans and identify methods for government to save money.

The contract money comes from the federal economic stimulus program.
