Shares of some top pharmaceuticals companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Baxter rose $.06 or .1 percent, to $54.82.

Bristol-Myers Squibb rose $.06 or .3 percent, to $23.18.

Hospira rose $.54 or 1.1 percent, to $47.70.

Johnson & Johnson rose $.28 or .5 percent, to $61.43.

King Pharmaceuticals fell $.05 or .4 percent, to $11.14.

Eli Lilly rose $.38 or 1.1 percent, to $35.36.

Merck rose $.12 or .4 percent, to $33.10.

Pfizer fell $.03 or .2 percent, to $17.59.
