Shares of some top utilities companies are down at 10 a.m.:

AEP fell $.13 or .4 percent, to $31.26.

ConEd fell $.04 or .1 percent, to $42.13.

Duke Energy fell $.02 or .1 percent, to $15.99.

Pepco Holdings fell $.01 or percent, to $15.32.

Southern Co fell $.04 or .1 percent, to $31.55.
