Shares of some top utilities companies are mixed at noon:

AEP rose $.09 or .3 percent, to $31.81.

ConEd fell $.20 or .5 percent, to $42.26.

Duke Energy fell $.03 or .2 percent, to $16.15.

Pepco Holdings fell $.06 or .4 percent, to $15.66.

Southern Co fell $.20 or .6 percent, to $32.00.
