Chevron rose $.53 or .7 percent, to $78.87.

ConocoPhillips rose $.31 or .6 percent, to $53.89.

Exxon Mobil rose $.42 or .6 percent, to $73.03.

Marathon Oil rose $.15 or .4 percent, to $35.09.
