Supercell to launch 3rd game after surging sales
HELSINKI (AP) — The 'Clash of Clans' mobile game maker Supercell says it's launching its third game as net sales grew more than eightfold in 2013 to $892 million.
The Finnish company says pretax profits amounted to $464 million last year, compared to $51 million in 2012. Net sales in 2012 amounted to $101 million.
It gave no other figures.
In October, Supercell announced it was selling a 51 percent stake to Japan's SoftBank and GungHo in a $1.5 billion deal but that its headquarters and most of its operations would remain in Finland.
Supercell, founded in 2010, has produced more than 165 games on 12 different platforms. It is also known for the popular 'Hay Day' game.
Its new game, Boom Beach, will be launched in March.
