American Electric Power Co. rose $.31 or .6 percent, to $49.12.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. rose $.46 or .8 percent, to $54.87.

Dominion Resources Inc. rose $.46 or .7 percent, to $68.37.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.64 or .9 percent, to $71.26.

Exelon rose $.21 or .7 percent, to $29.21.

PG&E rose $.31 or .7 percent, to $42.46.

Southern Co. rose $.44 or 1.1 percent, to $41.68.
