Conn. exchange reports 7,615 enrolled in plans

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut's health insurance marketplace says 7,615 people have been enrolled in insurance plans since open enrollment began Oct. 1.

Access Health CT reported Friday that 4,065 of those people enrolled with one of the private health insurance plans offered on the exchange, and 3,550 enrolled with government-funded Medicaid.

Access Health CT has a goal of enrolling about 100,000 during the open enrollment period, which ends March 31. People have until Dec. 15 to enroll if they want coverage to begin on Jan. 1.

Enrollment in health insurance plans for small businesses has been happening at a slower place. So far, 55 applications have been completed, covering 306 individuals.

Meanwhile, the marketplace reported 224,577 unique website visitors and 26,237 calls to its call center.
