Deadline looms for NH poster competition

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Monday is the deadline for artists to submit their entries for a poster competition that highlights what makes New Hampshire special.

The New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism and Manchester's Currier Museum of Art are teaming up for the competition.

Contest entrants are asked to create posters using the "Live Free and ..." tagline the state has been using in its marketing campaigns.

Posters can feature illustration, photography, typography or other graphic design techniques. The competition is open to New Hampshire residents and will be judged in three categories: youth, adult amateur and adult professional.

The public will pick the top 30 posters through online voting. A panel of artists and state officials will pick 15 semifinalists.

The entry deadline is July 8. Winners will be announced Aug. 1.
