Nasdaq stocks posting largest volume increases


NEW YORK (AP) — A look at the 10 biggest volume gainers on Nasdaq at the close of trading:

Ares Capital Corp. : Approximately 17,206,600 shares changed hands, a 947.9 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.61 or 3.4 percent to $17.42.

Baldwin & Lyons Inc. : Approximately 4,600 shares changed hands, a 1,126.0 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.50 or 2.2 percent to $23.50.

China Housing & Land : Approximately 1,999,400 shares changed hands, a 3,744.2 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.41 or 24.7 percent to $2.07.

Gulf Island Fabrication Inc. : Approximately 394,200 shares changed hands, a 1,031.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $1.98 or 9.2 percent to $19.51.

Helios and Matheson Information Technology Inc. : Approximately 49,200 shares changed hands, a 1,032.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.35 or 10.3 percent to $3.05.

Microvision Inc. : Approximately 3,421,700 shares changed hands, a 3,948.6 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.93 or 58.1 percent to $2.53.
