Viacom elects 2 journalists to its board

NEW YORK (AP) — Viacom says it elected Italian journalist Cristiana Falcone Sorrell and Deborah Norville of "Inside Edition" to its board of directors.

Falcone Sorrell and Norville are both immediately joining the board, which increases to 13 members from 11.

Norville is the anchor of "Inside Edition" on CBS. Falcone Sorrell is an adviser to the chairman at the World Economic Forum on media and a member of the Italian National Press Guild.

Viacom Inc. owns the Paramount movie studio and TV networks including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. The New York company separated from CBS Corp. in 2005.
