General Electric Co. rose $.08 or .3 percent, to $23.27.

Snap-On fell $.01 or percent, to $79.65.

Stanley Works fell $.20 or .3 percent, to $77.39.

Whirlpool Corp. rose $3.01 or 2.6 percent, to $117.36.
