General Electric Co. rose $.05 or .2 percent, to $23.31.

Snap-On rose $.36 or .5 percent, to $78.29.

Stanley Works rose $1.05 or 1.4 percent, to $77.13.

Whirlpool Corp. rose $1.23 or 1.1 percent, to $108.34.
