NYSE stocks posting largest volume increases


NEW YORK (AP) — A look at the 10 biggest volume gainers on New York Stock Exchange at the close of trading:

Brown & Brown Inc. : Approximately 3,153,600 shares changed hands, a 355.2 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $1.48 or 5.4 percent to $28.97.

Chiquita Brands International Inc. : Approximately 3,058,300 shares changed hands, a 550.2 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.22 or 3.0 percent to $7.20.

First Acceptance Corp. : Approximately 138,200 shares changed hands, a 396.1 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.04 or 3.4 percent to $1.22.

Life Time Fitness Inc. : Approximately 2,139,800 shares changed hands, a 391.7 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $1.80 or 4.6 percent to $41.16.

McGraw-Hill Cos : Approximately 18,646,800 shares changed hands, a 637.3 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $8.04 or 13.8 percent to $50.30.

Methode Electronics : Approximately 591,200 shares changed hands, a 454.5 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.82 or 8.3 percent to $10.68.

Moody's Corp. : Approximately 11,342,400 shares changed hands, a 519.2 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $5.90 or 10.7 percent to $49.45.

PetroLogistics LP : Approximately 2,539,200 shares changed hands, a 378.5 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $.29 or 1.8 percent to $15.60.

Pimco Corporate & Income Opportunity Fund : Approximately 1,018,500 shares changed hands, a 375.7 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares rose $.65 or 3.2 percent to $21.06.

Watsco B : Approximately 500 shares changed hands, a 407.8 percent increase over its 65-day average volume. The shares fell $2.27 or 3.0 percent to $74.50.
