NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top education companies were up at the close of trading:

Apollo Group rose $.40 or 2.0 percent, to $20.22.

Career Education Corp. rose $.22 or 6.8 percent, to $3.46.

DeVry rose $.77 or 3.2 percent, to $25.17.

Strayer Education Inc. rose $.88 or 1.6 percent, to $56.90.
