No. 2 fuel oil prices rise 2 cents in Maine
AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Maine energy officials say the statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil has risen 2 cents from last week's price survey to $3.74 per gallon.
The Governor's Energy Office's weekly heating fuel price survey on Tuesday also showed the average kerosene price decreased 1 cent to $4.14 per gallon. Propane prices increased 1 cent from last week to $2.73 per gallon. Propane prices continue to be much lower than last year's.
State officials say heating oil prices are trending upward as economic optimism drives increased demand for crude oil, both domestically and internationally.
The Governor's Energy Office has a calculator on its website (http://www.maine.gov/energy/index.html ) that enables consumers to estimate home heating costs and price impacts of various energy sources.
