New York Times Co. rose $.04 or .5 percent, to $8.69.

News Corp. fell $.06 or .2 percent, to $27.44.

Time Warner Inc. fell $.12 or .2 percent, to $49.69.

Viacom Inc. fell $.03 or percent, to $60.21.
