General Electric Co. fell $.30 or 1.4 percent, to $20.83.

Snap-On fell $.64 or .8 percent, to $79.01.

Stanley Works fell $.09 or .1 percent, to $75.01.

Whirlpool Corp. rose $.32 or .3 percent, to $104.69.
