Kohl's Corp. rose $.38 or .9 percent, to $42.35.

Macy's Inc. fell $.34 or .9 percent, to $37.32.

Nordstrom fell $.53 or 1.0 percent, to $53.90.

J.C. Penney Co. fell $.82 or 4.1 percent, to $19.14.

Saks rose $.08 or .8 percent, to $10.55.

Sears Holdings Corp. fell $2.11 or 4.9 percent, to $40.81.

TJX Companies fell $.58 or 1.3 percent, to $43.68.
