NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top silver companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.13 or 2.3 percent, to $5.63.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.44 or 2.4 percent, to $18.16.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.37 or 2.5 percent, to $14.45.

Silver Wheaton rose $.10 or .3 percent, to $34.66.
