Kroger fell $.30 or 1.1 percent, to $26.04.

Safeway fell $.06 or .3 percent, to $17.97.

Supervalu fell $.05 or 1.7 percent, to $2.58.

Whole Foods Market Inc. fell $.70 or .8 percent, to $90.30.
