New York Times Co. fell $.04 or .5 percent, to $8.79.

News Corp. rose $.17 or .7 percent, to $26.10.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.25 or .5 percent, to $47.89.

Viacom Inc. rose $.27 or .5 percent, to $54.27.
