EXTENDING A CARROT: As sales of fruit juice decline, Tropicana is hoping to get a boost from a new drink called "Farmstand" that includes a serving of fruits and vegetables in each glass.
SNEAKING IN VEGGIES: Tropicana, a division of PepsiCo Inc., is marketing the juice as a way for moms to sneak their families a serving of vegetables.
PLAYING UP THE FRUIT: The company says it tested a variety of vegetables to find a mix that minimized the taste of vegetables. Unlike the premium juices such as Bolthouse Farms and Naked, Tropicana Farmstand has a thinner consistency more akin to regular orange juice.
