BP PLC rose $.42 or 1.0 percent, to $41.59.

Chevron rose $.81 or .7 percent, to $108.55.

ConocoPhillips rose $.34 or .6 percent, to $58.46.

Exxon Mobil Corp. rose $.37 or .4 percent, to $89.36.

Marathon Oil Corp. rose $.04 or .1 percent, to $30.26.
