Aflac Inc. rose $.48 or .9 percent, to $54.57.

American International Group fell $.05 or .2 percent, to $35.21.

MBIA fell $.09 or 1.1 percent, to $8.27.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.10 or 4.6 percent, to $2.17.

MetLife rose $.60 or 1.8 percent, to $33.81.

XL Group PLC rose $.19 or .8 percent, to $25.07.
