NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top gold companies are up at 10 a.m.:

Barrick Gold Corp. rose $.58 or 1.7 percent, to $34.59.

Gold Fields rose $.09 or .8 percent, to $11.50.

GoldCorp. rose $.50 or 1.4 percent, to $37.55.

Newmont Mining Corp. rose $.35 or .8 percent, to $45.58.
