Apple Inc. rose $12.30 or 2.3 percent, to $542.12.

Dell Inc. rose $.18 or 1.7 percent, to $10.81.

Hewlett Packard Co. rose $.19 or 1.3 percent, to $14.35.

International Business Machines Corp. rose $1.65 or .9 percent, to $194.27.

Lexmark International Inc. rose $.33 or 1.3 percent, to $25.88.
