PNC Financial suspending evictions for holidays

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Homeowners living in homes foreclosed upon by lender PNC Financial Services Group Inc. are getting a reprieve from eviction for the holidays.

The bank said Tuesday that it will suspend evictions nationwide between Dec. 17 and Jan. 2, on occupied foreclosed homes for which PNC is the investor.

"We hope this suspension provides families who are experiencing financial hardship some stability over the holiday season," said Saiyid Naqvi, PNC's chief executive.

PNC, based in Pittsburgh, is a one of the nation's largest regional banks.

Shares of PNC fell 23 cents to close at $55.08.
