Bluefly names new chief financial officer

NEW YORK (AP) — Bluefly Inc., the online clothing and accessories retailer, said Thursday that it hired James Gallagher as the company's new chief financial officer.

Gallagher's most recent position was CFO at Vertro, an Internet search engine and technology company. Vertro was acquired by Inuvo Inc. last year.

The New York-based company said that Gallagher has 33 years of financial experience and has held positions a number of companies in the technology, media and accounting businesses.

Gallagher is replacing Kara Jenny as CFO. Bluefly said last week that Jenny would be leaving her position as CFO, but did not say why.

Bluefly shares rose 2 cents to 92 cents in afternoon trading. Its shares traded as low as 75 cents in mid-September. They hit a 52-week high of $2.29 last December.
