RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Tredegar Corp., which makes plastic films and aluminum parts, said Wednesday that it would pay a special dividend of 75 cents per share.

The dividend will be payable on Dec. 14 to shareholders as of Dec. 7.

The company said it would consider acquisitions, investments in the business, share buybacks and dividends to increase the value of its stock.

The shares rose 46 cents, or 2.6 percent, to $18.16 in afternoon trading. Tredegar shares have traded in a 52-week range of $12.33 and $26.76.
