New York Times Co. fell $.08 or 1.0 percent, to $7.99.

News Corp. rose $.01 or percent, to $24.46.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.42 or .9 percent, to $45.70.

Viacom Inc. rose $.20 or .4 percent, to $51.07.
