Apple Inc. rose $31.29 or 5.9 percent, to $558.97.

Dell Inc. rose $.15 or 1.7 percent, to $9.01.

Hewlett Packard Co. rose $.41 or 3.2 percent, to $13.26.

International Business Machines Corp. rose $2.61 or 1.4 percent, to $189.55.

Lexmark International Inc. rose $1.28 or 5.5 percent, to $24.38.
