NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top gold companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Barrick Gold Corp. fell $.89 or 2.5 percent, to $34.40.

Gold Fields fell $.39 or 3.1 percent, to $12.04.

GoldCorp. fell $.90 or 2.1 percent, to $41.91.

Newmont Mining Corp. fell $.77 or 1.6 percent, to $46.42.
